What God wants.

To start of this piece, I'd have to say I have no idea as to what God wants or as to what God needs, alright I know this might not be a great start to the blog and I might have let you down a bit, so let me say the same thing in French, “Je n’ai aucune idée”. There was that comic relief no one asked for, what can I do, French can make anything sound exquisite.

Now, don’t worry I won’t stray too far away from the topic, I will try and stray on track, which by my standards is quite exemplary, I’ll probably wander around the Idea regarding what God does not want, and maybe we might stumble upon what God really wants.

So when I asked myself this question, the first thought that entered my mind was what if we are doing what he wants, are we already doing what he wants? Is there even there a need for this thought, so to check that, I did a bit of research and observed that we are doing three things in particular that is common in every religion, sects, cults etc.:-

Worship

Learn

Thank (I am also referring to the notion or practice of attaching God to everything that happens)

Thinking more about this, I realised that these actions or these things that we do, aren't they a bit too mundane to be called for God, what I am trying to say is, we are just tying up our eternal god to unnecessary human standards and that I believe is the reason for all of the problems, all of the orthodox practices, all of the critiques are just the branches of the tree of mundane or human ideas.

Alright let’s just think of it in this way, Imagine you were offered a chance to be God, and think of the all-powerful, all-potent and an omnipresent ‘GOD’, what would you do apart from creating the world and stuff, would you set a basic set of rules, would you want your creations to praise you, to worship you, to thank you and don’t try to be modest, the answer is yes, we would want some kind of appreciation and respect but remember, that is your human brain trying to rationalize and trying to be fair, but the entire concept of God is that God is not human, God does not think like we do, what if everything that we are doing to ‘please’ God is just our human brain thinking and rationalizing, what if all of this is total ‘hokum’?

So what does God want? I don’t know, I am not god if that wasn't clear and I am pretty sure morgan freeman is also not God so don’t go asking him about this, but I am sure of one thing-

God would not want you to go and kill in his name, God would not want you to leave your friends for him, God would not want you to care more about him than your family, God would not want you to have a rigid routine for prayer and stuff and I am pretty sure God would not want to take attendance

So why are we holding prejudices and saying that is what God wants, Why are we displaying homophobia and xenophobia and saying that is what God wants, why are we pushing old and draconian ideas and saying that’s what god wants.

So let’s stop trying to please something that does not want anything, let’s stop doing things that are completely useless and stupid, let’s ease up a bit, let’s live in love and brotherhood, I am sure that is enough for God.

Thank you,
